Given that plasmids can contain genes that code for enzymes that digest antibiotics (i.e. antibiotics-resistant genes), do you now know why you’re supposed to finish your antibiotics prescription? (Especially since these genes can be transferred to bacteria of other species!)

Of course, this is just a simple explanation to it! Differences in molecular structure and bonding play a part too, but that shall come later (:
